| Vendor
Information Packet |
| This is a summary of relevant vending
information. All of the required information
is in the Vendor Information Packet, which
should be downloaded from our website – www.saturdaymorningmarket.com. |
- From the home page, click on "For
Vendors" on the top menu, and select
Vending Info.
- It will bring up this Vending
summary with a link to download our complete Vendor
Information Packet.
- In the complete packet you’ll
find background information about the
market, the details of the application
process, along with operational info about
vending.
If you haven’t visited the
Market before, we strongly encourage you
to visit before submitting your application. The
visit will enable you to experience the
market, see our layout, the types of products,
as well as experience the community atmosphere
that we promote with our vendors and customers. |

| Product Types |
| |
Potential Food Vendors
We’re always interested in
expanding food items on the market. |
- Unique food items that are not currently
present at market will be given more consideration. We
recommend that you carefully compare your
product to existing food products before
applying.
- We’d suggest you have a conversation
with the Market Operations Manager or
Market Director, at the market, prior
to applying.
- It is the responsibility of all Food
Vendors to have the proper license from
the Florida Dept. of Agriculture. We
can help inform and guide you about these
requirements.
|
Potential Plant Vendors
You must hold an appropriate license
with the Florida Dept. of Agriculture. Prospective
plant vendors will be considered on whether
the plants are unique and different than what
is already present at market. |
| |
Potential Craft Vendors
As the primary focus of the market is related
to food and plants, we are having to carefully
balance the acceptance of new craft vendors.
|
- Any approved new Craft Vendor will be
given occasional presence only.
This provides variety and interest to
our customers and the market place.
- We do keep an on-call list for
vendors that would be willing to fill
in unexpected vacancies.
- Crafts made by the Vendor themselves
are given preference. Re-sale of
other crafts/antiques/ used goods does
not fall into the mission of our market.
|
Fees
The rent for a space of up to 12 front feet is
$35/ day or $125 for 4 weeks (they don’t
need to be conscutive weeks). Tables and
tents are also available for rent. |

The Application & Screening
Process
The application process entails emailing
(or postal mailing) us a detailed description
of what you want to vend. This would
include: |
- your product
- your experience with vending
- how you would display and sell your
product
- as well as pictures of your product
and display.
|
| The Vendor Information packet provides
an example of a poor and good description
on page x. There is not an
official application form that needs to
be completed. |
- Once we receive this information, it
is given to the Market Steering Committee
for consideration.
- An application typically takes a week
to 10 days to process.
- Potential vendors are screened based
on a number of criteria, including:
- Product Type - whether
the product/service falls within
the market guidelines.
- Product Quality – The
style, construction and uniqueness
of the product.
- Presentation – The
display of the products on tables
and throughout the booth.
- Vendor Style – The
general friendliness and appearance
of the vendor.
If the Steering Committee approves a
vendor application, the vendor is invited
to vend at market on a Saturday when we
have space opening. This first
appearance completes the final screening
process. |
| |
Before participating in the market,
vendors need to read the entire Vendor
Information Packet and sign the Vendor
Agreement indicating their understanding
of our operating procedures.
After that first appearance, new prospective
vendors will be advised of their future
status. |
- The Steering Committee is responsible
for making the final decision about new
vendors.
- When the vendor has been approved to
participate, then an exploration can take
place with the market manager about the
specific dates that may be available.
If the Steering Committee decides that
the product is not a fit for the focus
of our market at present, we will notify
you by mail, and will keep your information
on file for future consideration.
We look forward to receiving information
about your product. We will call
you if we have any questions on initially
receiving your information. Please
include all contact information, whether
telephone (best time of day to call) or
email to help us with this process.
Thank you!
